PEDBALL



Summary

The game is played on an enclosed indoor or outdoor eliptical field with goals located at the focii.
The field is similar in size to an ice hockey rink.
The field is divided by a line drawn perpendicular and equally distant from the goals.
Six men, two women, a captain and goalie will wear polo shirts, shorts, gloves, and athletic shoes.
Padding, helmets, mouthguards and jewelry will not be worn. Ethnic numbers will identify players.


Equipment

Externally the ball will be 32 panel hand sewn material 28 inches in diameter.
The goals will be circular colored areas without nets.


The Play

The object is to move the ball close to the center of the opposing teams goal.


Rules

Players may NOT hold the ball.
Goalies can hold the ball.


Start of game

The ball is dropped from the air and allowed to bounce. Captains then move the ball.


Scoring

One point earned per goal.
After a goal the losing teams goalie inputs the ball.


End of Game

Teams swich sides at the halftime of play.
In the unlikely event of a tie, the ball will be dropped
from the center, the first team who scores is the winner.

Penalties

Contact between players is avoided.
If a player complains of contact by dropping a flag, the referee can:
eject the offending player, issue a warning, or adjust the score.


Holding the ball subtracts points from the team score.



Notes

A clear barrier separates the field from spectators.
Scoring should be between 50 an 100.
Only goalies must stay in goal areas.
Any part of the body can contact ball.

Disscusion

The surface will be fine grass or carpet to avoid injury.
Player will avoid contact with the wall.
Captains will face each other to start halfs, goalies stay in goal areas.
Players can start and go anywhere at any time (except goal areas) .

Technology

The ball, centers of goal areas, gloves, and uniforms will electronically record goals and holding .
